All About Us: Our Story
First off, Hi and welcome to our little blog! Below we tell who we are in a nut shell with our blogger story. First and foremost, we are Christians. As our blog is progressing, so is our walk with Christ. We are all lumps of clay ready to be molded. We are all about inspiring others through our travels and experiences. We live by Phil. 4:13 and hold that very close whenever on an adventure or trying new things!

Who Am I? (ERICA) AKA MOM

Well … Besides being the epic fun mom, I’m also a writer. FYI I am not writing this in third person.
I obtained my Bachelor of Arts, in General Writing at Western Connecticut State University, and have a minor in music and a concentration in Monotheistic Studies (try to say that one ten times fast). I also studied video production and am proficient in Adobe Photoshop.
I’ve written a short film that I co-produced with my husband. We shot it in one day and made it for YouTube. I’m currently working on a documentary dealing with travel and adventure. In addition, I also wrote a short piece for my husband’s reel (he’s an actor) and got to slap him repeatedly and write a lot of his monologues.
Then there is the huge amount of experience in community outreach, PR and Marketing. I have run my own business with my husband for over ten years doing all aspects of that and more. I almost went into labor painting someone’s family room.
In addition, I’m a professional published, photographer! My work has been featured in galleries and even a magazine. All inspired by Abby Girl and her tackling the miles of trails with me! Prints are for sale (shameless plug)
I’m a strong outdoors-woman
who has sectioned hiked several sections of the Appalachian Trail (longer distances before Abby). However, I’m reliving the AT with Abby now by my side. We are almost done with New York!
What do I do when I’m not doing all that stuff? I’m a concert violinist of over thirty years. A retired actress and hope to complete my first book within the next year. I do occasionally come out of retirement as an actress and appeared as a Zombie in a Spec Commercial alongside my husband (and I was pregnant) and was also in a Movie Called “Hard Candy Kid” also pregnant where I got to eat a lot of Marshmallows and almost knocked over a lit Tiki Torch onset (oopsy). Hey, I made IMDB! I did recently come out of actor retirement to do the Pasison Play with my daughter and it was an undescrible experiences. Literally pushed me ansd tested me at ever corner. We ended up not finishing the run due tp a virus that landed me in th ER called Astro Virus.
Oh, and I went through a period where I worked breaking wild ponies. I also just started creating and selling custom (by me) cool t-shirts on Amazon/Monkeekee Designs. One last thing, I am a former dancer and can’t wait to return! I have studied many forms of dance from Broadway to modern, and everything in between. I do now ever once and while dance with my daughter. A couple years ago we co-choreographed a piece together for a homeschool talent show. Spoiler, I did not nail the lift. HAHAHAHAHA. Life is about the imperfections.
AND Life is what you make of it. I’m making it one heck of an adventure.
Abby Girl-
My daughter is tough and fearless and usually in a tutu. Most importantly, Abigale is always on the go. So our cool adventure and travel blog was born because we are always going somewhere. My husband keeps getting upset and commenting on our mileage on the family vehicle. I keep telling him we have a lot to explore and do. It’s par for the course.
A while ago, she had a phrase, “are you tough” and proceed by doing an answer and call response followed by growling before a huge obstacle such as a rock scramble.

With being a strong, fierce woman in the making, we’ve already been to the ER over three times. Bucking herself off her rocking horse and receiving five stitches, power slamming the dog in the middle of the night, and she wanted to try something new on the playground. See the blog post. That was after she safely completed an adventure course and zipline. Since those three times, she has flipped over a railing and smashed her face into steps covering her homeschool teacher in blood. She also got another dog bite where she needed reconstructive surgery and the dog ate part of her lip. She says scars are beautiful and wants no more corrective surgery. Side note, we don’t let our child go around unsafe dogs. She just didn’t know boundaries when she was younger. Abby also was in ER for a coinfection. When it was time to leave, she removed her own IVs and the next day hiked several miles like it never happened. There’s been a couple less notable trips too.
She’s sat upon a draft horse, gone rock scrambling before two years old, lept off a high wall into a foam pit, and launched herself from a bouncy slide. Abigale ran fearlessly into the Hudson River in a calm shallow section and was covered in mud. She then got naked and ran like the wild child she is, through the forest. These, are just notable highlights.
Art is Everywhere-
She also has had a paintbrush in her hands for as long as I can remember and loves her digital camera. Abby has already appeared in two group art shows and loves attending gallery events. She often carries a notepad into the woods and loves to sit and draw inspiration from around her or work on her spelling! She also appeared in an art magazine.
horseback riding
She used to study with Ms. Hannah Engli and she used to love the movie is Cow Girls N’Angels and because of that, she wanted to run away with the rodeo and become a trick-rider. She has also studied western at Ridge Runner Ranch and graduated early to the Junior Wrangler Program at Pine Ridge Dude Ranch. Her favorite style is Horse Vaulting. It’s basically gymnastics on a horse. Latest milestones is being taken off lead line and cantering solo. She also placed first in her first ever horse show and top place of all age catagories in her second horse show. Sadly she hasn’t rode a horse in a couple years because she is worried about ruining her dance career.
Music makes the heart soar
She had a violin. However, she has since outgrown it and needs a new one. She also used to study at Harmony Garden Music been there for several years. Ms. Rachel is awesome! Abby has several guitars, a ukulele, keyboard and sings. She composed a song about angels that can found on our TikTok Channel. Another song she wrote at an older age, is called the Darkness. Shes alsohas been in several choirs, the Passion Play and Annie JR

Bookworm-
She began two years early in k-6 library program. Her favorite reading program currently is Teach Your Monster to Read.
Dance On
When she was younger, she loved gymnastics. However, now she takes dance. She used to take combo ballet, jazz and tap along with hip hop. There are many videos of her choreographing her own routines often in the style of modern. She hopes to go back to her beginnings and take acro. She studied at Queen City Dance and Ballet Arts in Beacon. She is now at NY Academy of Ballet and was accepted a year early with scholarship to AAB … but sadly cannot afford the seventeen hundred weekly tuition.
UPDATE: Wow what an adorable old photo of her dancing! This was years ago. She is now an accomplished choreographer and studies mainly ballet and contemporary. She is aiming to become a contemporary ballerina En Pointe

US TOGETHER-THE UNSTOPPABLE FORCE-
Together we have hiked over 1000 miles as of Aug 2025. We completed a round of Get Fit Challenge and did almost 80 miles in six weeks on over 35 trails varying from easy to moderate/difficult. A journal post was created every week about it every week and did a little Youtube highlight video. Here were my final thoughts.
At the start of the COVID Crisis and restrictions in place, we started to wander very remote trails. Some very challenging. She has done it all on her own two feet and we are over 100 miles in eight weeks or end of week one as of May 2020. By end of 2020, we had cleared 300 miles and crushed the High Five Challenge in one weekend.

We also enjoy doing yoga together and making music. We love randomly breaking into dance routines in our travels too. Keep an eye on social media and Instagram TV for our best performances. Trust me there are several out there. We now work as partners in a co-collab once a month with other artists in the style of modern improv.
So that’s me and her and that’s it! We would love to connect with you. Message me for a press kit and or discuss having us come to your destination. We promise to make it epic. We are not the average mom/daughter team (and occasional dad and Noodles the dog (no longer Noodles she passed away). Also available for Social Media Management, product representation, small videos and so much more.

Update!
We now have an extra adventurer named Olivia who I guess has the trail name Jelly Bean. She’sc three and Abby said she is making her in her image.
