Have you ever felt completely electrified by God? I took the month of May off in the road sign series as it has been crazy times both positive and negative not just for Adventures of Abby Girl, but for everyone. If readers haven’t been falling the series yet, it’s easy to catch-up. Each month for six months, a new sign passed in our travels will be discussed how it relates to a person’s walk as a Christian. Trust us, as Adventures of Abby Girl, we travel by car a lot to many new destinations and see many different signs. In fact, this series might even go into bonus months. Readers will just have to wait and see. The past posts in the series include The railroad crossing sign and how it relates to being patient, finding a message in a stop sign, and falling rock zone.
The High Voltage Sign-
When I see a high voltage sign, I think of being charged by Christ. Sound crazy? Perhaps. But, feeling so electrified that you want to shout-out your love as a Christian from the highest mountain peak is a good thing. Don’t silence your voice. Be electrified by Christ.
A Wake up Call-
If there is one way to get a wake-up call, it’s to be shocked. I decided to see how strong of a charge a horse fence had when I was much younger working on a farm. I put my hand right over the wire. Let’s just say, I lost the feeling in my legs and went down. How, many times has a person felt weak in the knees and fallen before Christ? A wake-up call. Surrender if you will. A total shock to the system. It seems that in today’s society, fewer and some people are falling. They are ignoring God and not surrendering. There are many passages in the Bible both in the Old and New Testament where people fall on their knees or their knees become weak.
Then Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell down before the Lord, worshiping the Lord.
2 Chronicles 8 20:18
A Warning-
Lastly, a high voltage sign can be a warning. The signs are along the road for a reason. It’s like when a wire falls down on someone’s car and they say not to get out of the car until help arrives. A person messes around with high voltage, they will get injured or worse. A lot of times God warns people that they are to steer clear. He puts those warnings signs up. However, more often than not, human nature tends to lead a person to ignore those warnings. Sometimes a lesson is learned and other times it’s not. It’s up to a person to make those right decisions.
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
How does a person make those correct decisions?
- read the Bible
- find a personal space all your own and make that the quiet place to be with God
- Get into a church or if a person isn’t able, there are many services that can be streamed from the comfort of home.
- Get right with God
22 We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.
23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. 24 Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. 25 For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, 26 for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he makes sinners right in his sight when they believe in Jesus.

- surround yourself with Christian people. Join a small group. Talk to someone. Get a Christian therapist or speak to a Pastor. Just make sure the Church you find is Bible-based and God motivated not self-motivated. Many churches now are taking liberties.

Final Thoughts-
Are you being electrified by God whether it’s good or bad? Remember C.S. Lewis’s quote above. God focuses on each one of us individually. He is listening.
